Tiles In Place. Knot Nearly Tied.
Tile The Knot is for the bride who would rather make something beautiful with her girls than shout over a DJ, at least until later in the night. Just the six of you, bride included, start around a table of coloured glass, head up to a rooftop for drinks, stroll the river to a tapas dinner and finish in a velvet VIP booth with the dance floor right there. It's her hens after all.
It all begins at our mosaic studio, in a private room that is all yours. Bring your favourite bubbly, because the studio is BYO friendly, with a fridge to keep it cold and glasses ready to pour. A sweet and savoury grazing box is waiting on the table to pick at, with a glass in hand while everyone chooses her seat. Clink clink!
Then your expert instructor takes you through a two hour mosaic workshop, with every tool and material laid out and a template designed just for your group. Glass by glass, six pieces take shape from the one design, each one her own. Years from now, when you're all eighty, somebody will point at hers on the shelf and tell the story of this afternoon. If things get competitive at the table, borrow a round from our favourite hens night games. And the bride takes home a DIY hanging decor kit, a gift that is hers alone.
Here's the part organisers love. Every piece is dry the moment you finish, and each one goes into a cute little box bag that slips straight into a handbag. Nobody spends the night babysitting wet art.
Then it's into the city. Hop on the tram or grab a quick Uber, or add our private car from the studio and simply walk out to your driver.
Up on our rooftop lounge, palm fronds and lush greenery frame views across the city skyline. Your reserved space is ready, a glass of bubbly lands in every hand and a bonus cocktail goes straight to your hen. The discounted cocktail menu is right there for round two, and the first rooftop toast is hers.
Then it's down to the water for a gentle stroll along the river, arm in arm, with the city on one side and the water on the other, and phones out for photos over the Yarra. No cab, no queue, just the girls and the view.
Dinner is waiting on the Southbank riverfront, at our restaurant where wine bottles line the walls and plants hang overhead. A glass of bubbly greets everyone at your table, then the chef's selection of tapas starts landing in the middle for sharing. And because one bonus cocktail a day is never enough for a bride, a second one is on its way to her.
When the plates are cleared, it's over the bridge and into the laneways, about fifteen minutes on foot. Our glam cocktail lounge waves you past the cover charge and into a velvet VIP booth that is yours for two hours, all custom neon and glittering pendants. A surprise bottle of bubbly arrives for your hen as you slide in, and when her song comes on, the dance floor is right there.
Somewhere in that booth, the bride will pull her box bag out of her handbag to show off her mosaic one more time, then look around the booth and ask who on earth put this day together. Everyone will look at you.
