Lock the Door. Roll the Credits.
Every great escape movie has that moment. The last lock gives and the whole gang spills out the door, screaming. The Great Hen Escape builds an entire hens night around that feeling, then keeps it rolling all the way to a velvet booth in a hidden laneway. It's made for eight of you who want to do something together before the glasses come out, and for a bride who has always secretly believed she would be brilliant in a heist. Spoiler: she will be.
Act one: the breakout. Our incredible escape room venue sits in the middle of the Melbourne CBD, and inside, your group divides into rival teams for a fifty-minute escape room experience. The clock starts. The tension builds. Every team is racing to get out with as few clues as possible, and nothing bonds a group of girls faster than a shared panic over a padlock. The bride plays the lead, naturally, whether she turns out to be the mastermind or the one who keeps pressing the wrong button. When your team makes it out, get the shot everybody will want to post: the whole crew bursting through the door like the closing scene of a blockbuster. The venue is fully licensed too, which means a toast to your leading lady can happen the second you're out.
Act two: the getaway. Cut to our CBD cocktail venue, where blush pink meets gold accents under walls glowing with neon kisses. The beautiful decor is the set, and reserved seating is held for the whole cast. Cocktails on arrival go straight into every hand, and the first toast is to the great escape. Then the delicious share plates start landing on the table and the replays begin, each one far more dramatic than what actually happened. Right on cue, a bonus cocktail arrives for your hen, because the star of the film always gets the best line. Somewhere between the plates and the bonus cocktail, the group chat gets renamed after the winning team.
Act three: the grand finale. A few minutes' teeter away, our glam cocktail lounge is hiding in plain sight on a Melbourne laneway. You breeze in with VIP entry, no cover charge to pay, then slide into your VIP booth for two hours, sinking into plush velvet while neon signs and glittering pendants set the mood. Then the plot twist: a surprise bottle of bubbly for your hen, landing on the table just as the music lifts. Pop! Cue the slow-motion toast to your leading lady. Once the dance floor calls, and it will, dance the night away right on your doorstep.
And the director of this whole production? That's you. When the credits roll and your bride is squeezed in beside you in the booth, bubbly in hand, telling everyone this was the best night of the lot, soak it up. Hens organiser of the year. Roll credits.
