01 Overture

What is a hens dance class?

A hens dance class with My Ultimate Hens is an hour with your My Ultimate Hens Dance Host and one routine for the whole crew, in the style the bride loves, from Last Rodeo line dancing and disco to burlesque or pole, built into a whole celebration of her. The class is where the night starts, not where it ends.

Two left feet are the norm here. Your Dance Host breaks the routine into counts of eight, the group learns it together, and the last run-through is for the bride: front and centre, or front row with the best seat in the house. Her call. That's the video someone will try to play at the wedding.

The music sets the cheek level, so pick her era for her, not for the loudest bridesmaid. Line dancing and Mamma Mia keep it sweet for mum; burlesque, pole and twerk turn it up.

02 Rehearsal

What happens at a hens dance class

Five, six, seven, eight. Then the bit she'll never live down.

    The crew arrives, glasses up, and someone announces she has two left feet. She's wrong, and the hour proves it.

    The warm-up

    Your Dance Host gets everyone moving and laughing before anyone has to remember a step. Got a song she can't live without? Send it to us when you book.

    Learn it in eights

    One routine, taught in small pieces, then stitched together. The group learns it at the speed of the group, not the speed of the one who did ballet till she was twelve.

    The full run

    Start to finish, all together. Somebody turns the wrong way. Everybody laughs. The second run is suspiciously good.

    The bride front and centre (or front row, filming), the girls giving it everything, the phones out. It lasts about three minutes and gets replayed for about three years.

    Dinner, a booth, a rooftop or a cocktail class. The routine gets its second performance on a real dance floor, usually unprompted.

About an hour, start to finish: long enough to nail it, short enough that everyone still has legs for dinner.

Hi Heather,

I wanted to provide some feedback from Stephies hens on the weekend just gone and say a huge thanks to everyone involved - she loved it from start to finish and you made it all so perfect! Your burlesque dancer Crystal she was unreal and made us all feel very femme fierce and strutting our stuff! Thankyou also for making sure she included the songs I sent you because as we talked about in the lead up these are our hens favourite songs and it made it even more special to have them as part of the night.

Now onto the topless waiter, well he was dishy as promised and even Stephs mum was getting in on the action and stealing him from everyone else for photos which was so funny! He couldn't do enough for us and yes as you can see from the photos we even dressed him up in a toilet paper gown and he was such a good sport helping and making us all laugh, it was exactly what we needed on such a fun night and exactly the sort of attitude i had hoped for.

Wow, I don’t even know where to start!! Saturday was A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y perfect, and I could not have ever imagined a better way to celebrate our wonderful bride to be! Adele was fabulous for burlesque, making us feel sexy and special. She was so lovely, and totally catered to our whims… even teaching us how to take off our knickers in a sexy way! Dinner was perfect, and every girl enjoyed their meal as well as the extensive cocktail list. Best part of the night was definitely the stretch hummer. Anthony was amazing! My only wish is that it should have gone longer. (Poor Anthony listening to our sing-a-longs!). Hens dance class questions

Do we need to be able to dance?

No. Not even slightly. Your Dance Host teaches one group routine in small pieces, at the speed of the group, and the only person who needs to shine is the bride.

How long is a hens dance class?

The class runs for about an hour, and how long the celebration goes is up to you. Our packages cater for every kind of hens, from an afternoon to the whole weekend.

Who teaches the class?

Your My Ultimate Hens Dance Host: one of our own, trained by us to get every girl in the routine, and matched to the style she picked, from line dancing and disco to burlesque and pole. Your host runs the routine; you bring the bride.

Can mum and the aunties join in?

Yes. Line dancing, Mamma Mia and disco are the easiest for mixed ages: everyone dances in rows to songs they already know. Leave pole and twerk for a night without the family, unless her mum is the one asking.

Is a dance class OK for a pregnant bride?

Yes. Line dancing, disco and Mamma Mia are made for a pregnant bride: gentle steps, every eye on her and the best spot in the routine. Tell us she's expecting and her Dance Host pitches it just right, and we can always arrange pregnancy-friendly food for the night around it.

Is pole dancing too much for a hens?

No, not unless it's too much for her. Pole has become a fitness class for plenty of Australians, and at a hens it's mostly spins, poses and a lot of laughing. If she's shy, or the family's coming, pick burlesque for the glamour or disco for the fun. Everything else is on our pole dancing hens parties page.

What do we wear to a hens dance class?

Something you can move in, in the dress code's colour, with the dinner outfit in your bag. For burlesque: black, fishnets if you're game. For line dancing: denim, a hat and boots you can dance in. For pole: shorts and bare legs, no moisturiser that day.

Can we choose the song?

Yes. Send us her favourites when you book and we'll ask your Dance Host to work them in. One organiser sent us her bride's favourite songs, and her host made sure they were part of the night.

Can we film the routine?

Yes, and you'll want to. Save it for the final run-through, when everyone knows the steps and the bride is front and centre.

Can the class come to our accommodation?

Ask us when you check her date. Most crews love the studio: mirrors, room to move and a floor built for it. Heading away for the weekend? Our hens weekends come with our own accommodation, and we build the class into the weekend around it.

Can we just book the dance class?

A My Ultimate Hens dance class is built to be a seamless, brilliant celebration from start to finish, so the class comes as part of a package. Have a look at the packages in her city; the right one depends on what you're after.

Can non-drinkers join in?
