She Chose The Outfit. Her Girls Chose The Day. Sail La Vie.

C'est la vie? Sail la vie. This is the Saturday she gets properly dressed up for, and her girls have planned every lovely moment of it.

It begins at a gin bar. Bubbly lands in every hand and share plates arrive for the table, while the bride gets a cocktail all of her own. Friends from different corners of her life settle in together, and the first toast already looks very good on her.

Then the backdrop starts to move. Your shared cocktail cruise gives you two hours of cocktails, house beer, cider and sparkling, with at least ninety minutes gliding along the river. Every time the skyline changes, someone wants the photo again, and the bride turns from the view back to the girls making room for her in the frame. It's a shared cruise, so there will be other guests aboard, and her people are right there beside her the whole way.

Back on land, the river stays in the story. There's a glass of bubbly each and light grazing boards by the water, and another cocktail for her. The boat photos are already doing the rounds, and everyone has a favourite.

The finish is tucked away in a hidden laneway bar, with reserved seats, a bottle for the girls and one more cocktail for the bride. The conversation turns back to her, and to everything the day has given them to talk about.

The outfit has had a beautiful day. So has the woman wearing it.
