The bit nobody puts in the group chat

“Our night flowed really well, no stuffing around and most importantly I got to actually enjoy my friends hens instead of playing event manager all night because everything had already been thought through. The timing, what was included, where we'd go next, what suited the 9 girls we had and honestly, I didn't properly realise how much difference that would make until the actual night itself. It felt like a proper event rather than us just meeting at a few places Han loved every part of it and even said how did you do and find all this?? So that was the review from her I needed and I would use them again in a heartbeat!”

Jess Mitchelson-Hall, Google review

That’s the whole idea. You get a mat in the class, not a clipboard beside it. More from our organisers

What happens at hens pilates or yoga

One class. Her favourite people. A very good brunch after.

Hens pilates and yoga with My Ultimate Hens is a slow, giggly class built around the bride, then brunch and the rest of her day, and our packages are in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide.

Maybe she already lives at her Saturday reformer class. Maybe she just wants one morning in the wedding countdown that’s about being together. Either way it starts the same: her favourite people in their best sets, grip socks on, filing in beside her. Your My Ultimate Hens instructor has the room smiling before the first stretch, then takes everyone through it, the first-timers included.

That’s a wellness hens, really: her celebration built around feeling good together, a class, a slow brunch, maybe a sound bath, and the rest of her day still ahead.

Halfway through, one more round gets called. Her sister catches her eye in the mirror, they both lose it, and the back row goes with them.

  1. A big hens crew in pastel activewear sets standing together on yoga mats under a chandelier

    Before the first stretch

    They arrive in their sets

Pastels, matching sets or one colour together, and the bride easy to spot in white.

  2. A hens crew in activewear smiling around a reformer in a bright pilates studio, the bride sitting in front in white

    Grip socks on

    Everyone finds a spot

Your instructor welcomes the crew, shows everyone the basics and takes it from the very beginning. First-timers very welcome.

  3. Friends resting forward on bright yoga mats on a sunny rooftop terrace

    The last few minutes

    The room goes quiet

One long stretch, flat on the mats, and for a moment the only sound is somebody trying very hard not to giggle.

  4. A big crew of friends in pink activewear sets laughing and posing together in a studio

    Straight after

    The photo in your sets

All of you, the bride in the middle, everyone still glowing. You’re in this one too.

  5. A brunch table spread with pizzas, salmon and beetroot on toast, olives and lemons

    Then

    Brunch, and the stories start

The table fills up, the bride gets the first toast, and the class becomes the first story of the day.

  6. Hens in sashes and a tiara clinking glasses of bubbles across the table

    After that

    The rest of her day

A high tea, a long lunch, a slow afternoon or a big night out. Whatever the rest of her hens looks like.

And you? You booked one thing, then rolled out a mat beside her like everyone else.

Ways to do hens pilates and yoga

Seven ways to roll out the mats. Tap the one that’s her and we’ll keep it in mind when you tell us about her.

Reformer pilates

A studio full of reformers, one each, the springs clunking and the bride on the middle machine. It’s the one for the bride who already lives at her Saturday class and wants her girls to finally see what she’s on about. First-timers welcome, your instructor takes it from the top, and the reformers live in the studio, so this one happens there.

Comes to you

Mat pilates at your place

Mats rolled out across the Airbnb lounge or the hotel suite, and the morning starts in your pyjamas. Mat pilates only needs floor space, so the class comes to you.

Sand, lawn or lounge

A yoga class, on the sand or at your Airbnb

A slow flow at sunrise on the beach, on the lawn or in the lounge room, finishing flat on your backs while the sky goes pink. For the crew who’d rather giggle than stretch, a laughter yoga class does exactly what it says.

For the photo

Puppy yoga

A yoga class where the puppies wander in, climb across the mats and steal the show. Somebody always ends up holding a pose with a puppy on her back, and the bride gets the best photo of the weekend with one asleep in her lap.

Lie down the whole time

A sound bath or breathwork

Lie back while the bowls and gongs fill the room, or follow a breathwork session that has the whole crew in fits of giggles by the end. It’s the one for the girls who’d like to be horizontal from start to finish, and fair enough.

The morning after

The morning after: a slow class, then brunch

The big night was last night. This morning is grip socks, a slow class and then a long brunch where everyone tells her own version of what happened. Sunglasses are welcome indoors.

A weekend built around a morning class, the pool, a long lunch and an early night, or not. Mats out at our own accommodation, the bride with the best spot, and the rest of the weekend still ahead. Have a look at our hens weekend packages.

03 breathe in

Pilates or yoga? Picking her class

Two lovely ways to spend a morning. One of them is more her.

Pilates is slow, controlled strength work for the core and legs, on a reformer machine in a studio or on a mat anywhere; yoga is flowing poses and long stretches that end with everyone lying down. Every class we put into a hens is pitched for beginners, so pick the one that sounds like her, not the one that sounds easiest.

The bride in a veil and sash looking across a reformer studio decorated with pink bow balloons

Pilates

Small moves, a lot of focus and a very good core group. On a reformer it’s springs, straps and one machine each; on a mat it’s the same work on the floor, anywhere with room to stretch out.

Her if: she has a favourite studio, owns more grip socks than heels, or has been telling you about her Saturday class for months.

Three friends in activewear holding a standing yoga pose with their arms up on mats in a leafy garden, one in white heart sunglasses

Yoga

Flowing from one pose to the next, a few deep breaths and a long stretch at the end. It goes anywhere: the sand, the lawn, the lounge room at your accommodation.

Her if: she wants a slower start, loves a sunrise, or would like the morning to feel more like a deep breath than a workout.

  • She lives at the studio? Reformer pilates. Her girls finally see what all the fuss is about.
  • Want it at the accommodation? Mat pilates or yoga. The class comes to you.
  • She wants the photo? Puppy yoga. Obviously.
  • The crew wants to lie down the whole time? A sound bath. Lying down is the whole point.

04 who’s on the mats

Who a pilates or yoga hens suits

Different reasons to love it. The same lovely morning.

Two friends in blue and green swirl print dresses laughing together on a turquoise bench

The bride who’d rather feel amazing than survive

She wants her hens to feel as good the morning after as it does on the day. A class, a long brunch and her people around her is exactly that.

Two friends in a lilac set and a black set smiling and throwing peace signs in a boutique

The bride who lives in her grip socks

Her Saturday class finally gets the guest list it deserves: her sister, her oldest friend and the work friends who keep asking what a reformer actually is.

A big hens group of all ages in pastel dresses gathered together outside

The mixed crew

School friends, work friends, her sister’s friends. Following the same class gives everyone something to laugh about at brunch, and by the time the coffees land, the uni girls and the work girls have swapped numbers.

A bride and her mum smiling in fresh flower crowns at a long table

Mum and the aunties

Every class starts at the beginning and your instructor pitches it for the room, so her mum is on the mat beside her, not watching from the side. Tell us about a sore back or a dodgy knee when you book, so your instructor knows before the day.

A brunch grazing box of pastries, strawberries, figs and berries

The girls who aren’t big drinkers

The class and the brunch are the point here, and the toast works just as well with a smoothie or a flat white.

Three friends in pink dresses and heart sunglasses on a garden lawn

A pregnant bride or friend

Tell us when you book, so your instructor knows before the day and can pitch the class for her. She gets the best spot on the mats and the comfiest seat at brunch.

A group in pink pyjamas and heart sunglasses on a bed with balloons

The weekend crew

One slow morning between two big nights. Pyjamas to grip socks in about ten minutes.

Two friends smiling in a swimming pool with drinks in hand

And you, the one organising it

A mat right beside hers, a brunch you get to sit down and enjoy, and a group photo you’re actually in.

05 hold for three

What hens pilates and yoga cost

The package is the magic.

Hens pilates and yoga comes inside a hens package with her whole day built around the class, so it’s priced per person.

What moves it: a reformer studio or a mat class at your place, the brunch or long lunch after, her city, and whether you make a weekend of it.

Pilates or yoga for her hens: a class together with her on the front mat, then brunch and the rest of her day, in one My Ultimate Hens package, priced per person.

06 grip socks on

What to wear to hens pilates or yoga

The matching sets. The socks with “Bride” on them. The group photo that follows.

A bride in a white crop set and white socks stretching at a ballet barre in front of giant BRIDE balloons

The bride

White or cream activewear, or a matching set with “Bride” on it, and her own grip socks. She’s the easiest person in the room to find.

Friends in matching pink activewear sets and white socks in a group hug in front of gilded mirrors

The girls

Matching sets in one colour, or everyone in her own favourite and a matching pair of socks. Hair tied back, and the bride in the middle of the photo.

A hens group in pastel dresses posing together in front of pink and white balloons

The practical bit

Grip socks for reformer pilates; bare feet or socks for yoga and mat. A layer for a sunrise class on the sand, a water bottle, and the brunch outfit in the bag.

Copy a dress code into the group chat

One colour: everyone in a matching set in one colour, the bride in white with her own grip socks.

Pastel rainbow: everyone in a different pastel set, the bride in white in the middle of the photo.

Think pink: pink sets and white socks for the girls, all white for the bride.

Your own favourite: whatever you love moving in, plus one matching thing each (socks, a scrunchie or sunglasses). The bride in white.

Then change for brunch: our daytime hens outfits have the next look sorted.

07 make it hers

Put her class on the timetable

Her name, her class, the time you’ll all roll in. Save it and send it to the girls, or make it the group chat photo.

08 and release

Three little games for the brunch table

The class is done. Now the questions about the bride start. Playing along is everyone’s own call; laughing along counts.

With the first coffee

Her ideal Saturday

  1. Everyone writes down the bride’s perfect Saturday: her breakfast order, the song in the car, where she’d be at three o’clock.
  2. The bride reads them out, one at a time.
  3. Somebody knows her far too well. Somebody has her mixed up with her sister.

Before the food lands

Who knows her morning order?

  1. Ask the bride five quick ones: her coffee, her eggs, her smoothie, her walk-in song and her favourite class.
  2. Everyone writes a guess for each before she answers.
  3. Reveal them one by one. Her sister will be very sure about the coffee.

Before the table is cleared

A few words for later

  1. Bring a few blank cards and an envelope; the organiser keeps them till the end.
  2. Everyone who’d like to writes the bride a few lines on a card.
  3. Gather them in an envelope before anyone heads off.
  4. She reads them later, on her own, probably twice.

Want more for later in the day? Hens party games for every crew.

Rather a spa day?

The spa is robes, treatments and a quiet hour to yourself; a class is moving together and laughing about it at brunch. If she’d rather be the one lying very still, have a look at our hens spa days.

What a My Ultimate Hens morning adds

A My Ultimate Hens pilates or yoga hens puts her whole day in one place: the class, the brunch table, the little surprises waiting for the bride and wherever the day goes next, so the morning rolls straight on and you’re at brunch, not on your phone. We’ve been building hens since 2011, and we know which order makes a morning land.

  • One booking, the whole day.
  • Surprises for her, already in it.
  • Your mat’s next to hers.

11 it happened

Real hens, real mornings

From the organisers who got to enjoy the hens they planned.

★★★★★

“Honestly, I was nervous about the price point of going out as we couldn't decide if we should just have it at my house and nearly talked myself out of it twice. Josh who helped me find our package remembered I'd mentioned during my first chat that we weren't sure if a drinks package would be good value for us because not many of us are big drinkers, and he agreed with me and found a package at a lower price point so I really appreciated that and felt really looked after. He actually cared about us finding a package that suited us which I really appreciated. Really overjoyed with the outcome and so was Rachel the bride and her very fussy mum as well. Thank you to the whole team but especially to Josh.”

★★★★★

“We booked a package with My Ultimate Hens for my friend's hens weekend. I initially heard about this company from another hens night I was at, with a friend, and it exceeded expectations. The itinerary was well thought out, the venues were great, and the transitions between each activity were seamless. It really felt like a premium, well-organised experience from start to finish. Highly, highly recommend!”

Hens pilates and yoga questions

The ones the group chat will ask you, answered before they do. Booking in general lives on our FAQ page.

What happens at a hens pilates or yoga class?

Your My Ultimate Hens instructor runs a beginner class for the hens crew, on reformers in a studio or on mats at your place or the beach, then the day rolls on to brunch and whatever’s next for the bride.

What is a wellness hens?

A wellness hens is a celebration built around feeling good together: a pilates or yoga class, a sound bath and a long brunch, with My Ultimate Hens planning the rest of the bride’s day around it.

Do we need to be fit or flexible?

No. Every class is pitched for beginners, your instructor sets the pace, and anyone can take it slower or sit one out with a smoothie and the camera.

Pilates or yoga for the hens?

Pilates if the bride loves a reformer class and a bit of a shake; yoga if she wants slow stretches that finish lying down; puppy yoga if she wants the photo. More in picking her class.

Reformer or mat pilates?

Reformer pilates happens in a studio full of reformer machines, one each; mat pilates comes to you and only needs floor space.

Can the class come to our Airbnb, hotel or the beach?

Yes. Mat pilates and yoga come to your apartment, hotel, Airbnb or a stretch of sand; reformer pilates happens in a studio because the machines don’t travel.

How long is a hens pilates or yoga class?

Long enough for a proper class and a long stretch at the end, then brunch or the next stop takes over. Tell us the kind of morning she’d love and we’ll show you how the class fits her day.

How much does hens pilates or yoga cost?

Hens pilates and yoga comes inside a hens package, priced per person, with brunch and the rest of her day built around the class. The class, the city, the brunch after and whether it’s a weekend set where yours lands. See the packages in her city.

What do we wear to hens pilates or yoga?

Activewear in a matching set or one colour, grip socks for reformer pilates, bare feet or socks for yoga and mat, and the bride in white. For the brunch after, see our daytime hens outfits.

Can we do puppy yoga for a hens?

Yes. Puppy yoga is a yoga class with puppies wandering across the mats, and it’s the one that gets the bride the best photo of the weekend.

Can a pregnant bride join in?

Tell us if the bride or anyone in the crew is pregnant when you book, so your instructor knows before the day and can pitch the class for her.

Can Mum and the aunties join in?

Yes. Every class starts at the beginning and your instructor pitches it for the whole room, so her mum is on the mat beside her and in the photo after. Tell us about a sore back or a dodgy knee when you book, so your instructor knows before the day.

Is a pilates or yoga class good the morning after a big night?

Yes. A slow class the morning after is a lovely way to bring everyone back together: stretch, laugh about last night, then brunch.

Which cities do you do hens pilates and yoga in?

Our packages are in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide. Start with her city: Melbourne hens parties, Sydney hens parties, Brisbane hens parties, Gold Coast hens parties, Perth hens parties or Adelaide hens parties.
