Come evening, the girls share pizzas, salads and fries at our riverside restaurant, toasting her with a glass of bubbly each while her cocktail arrives, then a bottle of bubbly for the group at our bar by the river. The overnight bag is the first clue. Skincare gets packed with unreasonable optimism, three outfits come along for one night out, and somebody brings a hair tool powerful enough to service the entire room. Glow Before The Vows Weekend takes the bride and her girls from a skin session each to pizzas by the river, with a whole night together afterwards.
First, the glow. Your seats are reserved at our beauty bar with a glass of bubbly each, and two at a time the girls head in for a 45 minute skin session tailored to their own skin goals, finished with lymphatic massage. We'd send the bride in first. Everyone else sips, chats and gives a running review of how relaxed each pair looks on the way back out. Somewhere in the middle, a surprise cocktail arrives for her.
Afterwards the glow carries on at the Ultimate Hens Bachelorette Pad Apartment. Swimsuits go on and the swapping of serums begins. Anyone not ready to stop being pampered has the pool, spa, sauna and steam room on site, which usually means everyone.
Eventually the outfits get their moment. All three of them, for one night out. The famous hair tool earns its place in the suitcase, and the Bach Pad starts to smell faintly of hairspray and excellent decisions.
Next, our riverside restaurant. Bubbly goes round the reserved table, one glass each, the bride gets her cocktail, and the pizzas, salads and fries come out to share. For once there's time to hear every story properly, the full version rather than the voice note, and nobody is glancing at the time.
And the night still has somewhere to go. For two hours, a reserved corner of our bar by the river belongs to the girls, along with a bottle of bubbly for the group. This is usually when the next weekend away starts planning itself. Someone mentions another city, someone else opens a calendar, and by the second glass there's a date pencilled in for after the honeymoon. Being spoilt together is very persuasive.
Later, the night winds up at the Bach Pad, on the girls' own schedule. This is the part the usual catch up never had: nobody has to be first to call it a night.
Side effects may include permanently higher standards for every catch up after the wedding. As for the girl who booked it, her glow is well earned, and the bride will be telling everyone who planned it.
