From an organiser who got to enjoy it

“So I organised a hen party from London for my best friend in Australia and honestly didn't know how I was going to pull it off and so happy I found My Ultimate Hens.

From start to finish everything exceeded expectations, thankyou for all the little surprises, how smoothly everything went and it all just worked and we had just the best time and honestly just soak it all in, which is pretty rare when you're the one organising.

It ended up being one of the best nights ever and there's no way I could have done it from the other side of the world without you. I'm so grateful and honestly couldn't recommend you more.”

Soaking it all in, as the organiser. That’s the whole idea. More real hens

What happens on a bathhouse hens day

Somebody makes room beside her in the water. The catching up begins.

A bathhouse hens party with My Ultimate Hens is warm pools, steam and sauna with the bride’s favourite people, then the toasts and the rest of her day planned around the soak; our packages are in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide.

It’s the hens where everyone is finally in the one place at the one time. Her school friend, her work friend and her sister end up side by side in the same warm pool, and the stories she was hoping they’d never swap get swapped anyway. Nobody’s shouting over a DJ. Nobody’s waiting on an Uber. There is warm water, good company and a whole crew with nowhere else to be.

What’s a bathhouse? Warm and mineral pools, a steam room and a sauna, often a cold plunge, that your crew moves between together for a set session. Hot springs are the outdoor cousin: natural mineral pools, usually a drive out of the city.

Ten minutes in, the group chat has gone quiet, the bride is floating with her eyes shut, and somebody’s mum has just done the cold plunge twice.

Every good bathhouse hens, about ten minutes in
  1. Five hens from behind in matching pink robes with their names on the back, under rose gold BRIDE TO BE balloons

    Robes on

The robe photo, before anyone gets wet

Robes tied, hair up, the bride in the middle. It’s the photo you’ll still be using as your group chat picture next year.

  2. Friends in towel turbans and sunglasses stretched out on pink daybeds beside the pool

    The first warm pool

The whole crew, floating in one place

Shoulders drop, the conversation starts, and her friends from every part of her life are suddenly in the same few metres of warm water.

  3. Hens in robes and towel turbans sitting on the edge of a warm pool, looking out a big window over the city

    Steam and sauna

The hot bit, and the shriek

The steam room, the sauna, and the cold plunge for whoever’s game. Somebody always shrieks, and the bride gets a front-row seat.

  4. Five friends in white robes and towel turbans laughing over gold-rimmed teacups, the one in the middle in white heart sunglasses

    Back to the warm water

A cup of tea in a towel turban

Back into the warm pool, then a quiet corner, a cup of tea and the kind of catch-up you can’t have on a dance floor.

  5. A big hens crew in sashes gathered around a long lunch table set with plates and drinks

    Out and dressed up

The outfit reveal and the toasts

Hair down, outfits on, everyone grinning. The speeches and the clinking happen after, at lunch, on a rooftop or at dinner, where you can be as loud as you like.

  6. The bride in a sash and heart sunglasses laughing with two friends on a sunny city rooftop

    Then

    The rest of her day

A rooftop, dinner, a dance floor or a slow night in. The soak was the start, not the whole story.

And you? You booked one thing, then floated with everyone else.

Ways to do a bathhouse or hot springs hens

Six ways to get her crew into warm water, from a city soak to a whole weekend. Tap the one that’s her and we’ll keep it in mind when you tell us about her.

The city soak

A bathhouse session for the hens

The warm pools, the steam room and the sauna, a set session with the girls, then out the door and on to lunch. It’s the easiest way to drop a soak into a day in town. Some bathhouses are Korean or Japanese in style, with scrubs and rituals of their own, which makes for a very good story at lunch.

Every pool, hers

The whole bathhouse for the bride’s crew

Private hire, so every pool, every bench in the steam room and every lounger belongs to her people for the session. Louder laughs, longer stories, and a robe photo with nobody else in the background. Looking for a private bathhouse for your group? This is the one.

A hot springs day trip

Natural mineral pools a drive out of the city, the crew together in the water under the open sky, then a long lunch. Think the Mornington Peninsula or Daylesford from Melbourne, or the Gold Coast hinterland. The drive is part of the day, and a hens party bus turns it into the first stop of the fun.

Steam, sauna, shriek

Sauna and cold plunge, hens style

The social sauna everyone’s talking about, turned into a sauna hen party: the hot bench, the shriek on the plunge, the warm-up after, and the bride with the best plunge face of the day. Every bit of it is for whoever’s game. Rather a sound bath? See hens pilates and yoga.

Different crews, the same warm water. Everyone in it is there for her.

05 pack the bathers

What to wear and bring to a bathhouse hens

The bride in white, the girls in bathers you can float in, and an outfit in the bag for the reveal after.

A group of friends in pale satin robes and sunglasses laughing together with glasses in hand

The bride

White bathers or a white robe, the one different colour in the water. A Bride towel turban if she’s game, and she’s the easiest girl to find in every photo.

Five friends in satin robes and sunglasses sitting together on the floor, grinning

The girls

Bathers you can actually float in, matching robes if you want the robe photo, and slides or thongs for the walk between pools. Comfy beats cute between pools, every time.

In everyone’s bag

  • A hair tie or a clip. Hair up in the water, hair down for lunch.
  • A water bottle. The steam room is thirsty work.
  • The outfit for after. It’s the reveal after the soak, so make it a good one.
  • The fresh fake tan can wait. Book it for the day after the soak.

The photos

Take the robe photos before you go in and after you come out, when everyone’s glowing. The pools are for switching off, and phones away is half the magic.

The soak is the quiet bit

Bathhouses are calm by design, so the speeches, the singing and the games happen after, over lunch or on the rooftop. That’s the order that works: soak while everyone’s fresh, then celebrate out loud.

Copy a packing list into the group chat

Soak day list: bathers, a hair tie, a water bottle, slides or thongs, and your outfit for after in the bag. The bride in white.

Robe photo: everyone in white robes, the bride in a towel turban that says Bride. Sunnies on. Photo first, then in the water.

The reveal: pack something you love for after. We go from robes to rooftop, so dress for the second half of her day.

What a My Ultimate Hens bathhouse day adds

A My Ultimate Hens bathhouse day puts the whole celebration in one place: the soak, the toast and wherever the girls go next, lined up so the quiet bit and the loud bit each get their moment, because we’ve been building hens since 2011.

  • One booking, one flowing day. From the robes to the rooftop, nobody’s working out where to go next.
  • Little touches just for her. A bonus cocktail for the bride on many of them, so she’s the one being celebrated all day.
  • You get to float too. In the water, in the robe photo, at the table for the toast.

See it in her city.

“We booked a package with My Ultimate Hens for my friend's hens weekend. I initially heard about this company from another hens night I was at, with a friend, and it exceeded expectations. The itinerary was well thought out, the venues were great, and the transitions between each activity were seamless. It really felt like a premium, well-organised experience from start to finish. Highly, highly recommend!”

Stacey Bennett, Google

“Our night flowed really well, no stuffing around and most importantly I got to actually enjoy my friends hens instead of playing event manager all night because everything had already been thought through. The timing, what was included, where we'd go next, what suited the 9 girls we had and honestly, I didn't properly realise how much difference that would make until the actual night itself. It felt like a proper event rather than us just meeting at a few places Han loved every part of it and even said how did you do and find all this?? So that was the review from her I needed and I would use them again in a heartbeat!”

Jess Mitchelson-Hall, Google

“I've been on 3 separate hens parties arranged by My Ultimate Hens, and have recommended them to friends since then.

They have all been such lovely, colourful, effortless and welcoming experiences!

The event day information came through well ahead of time, and a pre-event plan was emailed in preparation so we all knew the plan. Highly recommend!”
